What about other methods?
Charting your temperature doesn’t warn in
advance
Charting your temperature is an important
practice which can help you understand your
cycle. But this method, using a basal
thermometer, is designed only to help
determine when ovulation has occurred. It
does not warn in advance like maybe Baby™
doe
Urinary tests can become expensive
Urinary ovulation prediction tests are
designed to detect a luteinizing hormone (LH)
surge just before ovulation.
This only gives couples 24 to 36 hours
advance notice. However, it can take as long
as 24 hours for sperm to reach the egg, and
an egg can die in as few as six hours after
its release. So, for some couples that may
not be enough of a window of opportunity.
In addition, the LH surge is sudden and can
disappear quickly. So unless you test your
urine at the right time, the test could be
unclear and you could actually miss it.
That’s why some urine test kits suggest
testing twice a day. And since urine-based
predictor test strips are not reusable, this
method can become extremely costly.
maybe Baby™ helps pinpoint ovulation a
few days in advance and is reusable day
after day, month after month. So you never
need to miss your fertile period.
Combining methods
It may helpful to use a number of methods
together to confirm your ovulation date. You
can use your maybe Baby™ chart
together with cervical mucus readings and
temperature charting.
